Eggs on my hair?! Hair conditioner!

Yes yes you've read it right, i put eggs in my hair!

Ta dah! Lovely locks!

Let me just explain, i'm not going crazy and i can afford hair conditioners but I've heard amazing wonders about eggs!

All you need is:
  • 1 or 2 medium sized eggs (depending on length)
  • A cup
  • A fork
  • Water
  • Towel

This could not be simpler! Firstly whisk the eggs in a cup, fill 3/4 of the way up with water :) Make sure its not warm, as i put in boiling water and it turned into a gorgeous watery scrambled egg!!!

Then comb your hair to make sure all the knots are out :)

Lather the egg and water mixture onto your hair :)

Leave in for 10 - 15 and wash as normal without hot water, eggs plus hot water = scrambled eggs :( !

Instantly your hair should feel nourished, moisturized, smooth and have a lovely shine to it! NOT AS SHINY FOR BLONDES!

This has got to be the cheapest deep conditioner i have ever used, and like magic you have gorgeous shiny hair :)

Happy hair days :)

Diary of a blog addict :)

So here i am on a Friday night? sitting in, recovering from my illness when most people my age are out. Sitting in watching X factor and writing a blog? Wow i'm cool!

I'm not saying id give up a night out for a night in with the tv, but as summers closing in, i think its time to spend a little more time inside :) Seeming the Irish weather is so unpredictable!

It all started when a guest lecture came to my college an asked was there a college newspaper? Realising i didnt have the chance to take part, i start sure why not start a blog?

At first it was so awkward, only like one of my friends reading my blogs, but now look nearly 2000 people :) Whether it be a blog, a haul or a DIY! You can expect plenty more from me :)

Why blogging? I love sharing tips, tricks and general knowledge with my friends so why not do it in a blog? Seeming im studying media its the perfect chance to do some practice! :)

Whats to come next, you can expect anything :)

As for now :)

Happy reading

DIY bow back jumper!!! Fool proof!

Here's an easy idea to jazz up any old jumper lying around the house :)

I used this grey jumper that i bought in Primark ages ago! i think it was €14 and its so boring!

Firstly you'll never a scissors

A rotary cutter, this pizza cutter worked just fine!

A needle!

thread! Any colour any size, once it matches what your going for!

Firstly i cut this ugly flower detailing off the bottom of the jumper

i simply followed the inner stitching on the jumper and cut the remaining material off!

With the excess material i cut it into four stripes for making the bows, they do not need to be accurate at all!

Cut four slits into the back of your jumper, sadly i cut them too wide apart :(
Use the excess strips of material and wrap around the centre of cut pieces.
As seen below.

When happy with the position of the bows. You need to stitch the material to the jumper and then do this with all.
Once finished you now have yourself a bow backed jumper :)

Happy DIY days

Diary of a college student!

Moving to college? Heres a blog to help you pack!
What are the simple basics you need to remember when moving to college?

Ive written all the tips and tricks to help you save money!

1. Clothes - do not over pack! There is only so many outfits you can wear in one week!
Parents love nothing more than to be faced with a HUGE pile of washing to wash and iron
in the space of three days! Theres nothing like it! Think wisely and only bring enough until the next              time you go to your own house and then it looks like you have new clothes!

2. Tooth brush, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, shaving gel, razers, ear buds, tanning mit (ESSENTIAL), perfumes! All the toilet essentials, nothing spells a bad night out like forgetting your tan! If in dire needs use a sock to apply your tan!

3. Bag/Rucksack! Perfect for carrying your books or laptop to college, using a handbag may be more fashionable but back pain and breaking your laptop is not suitable for the college life!

4. shot glasses! Well because you never know what can happen on a night out!

5. Towels! These are essential if you plan on washing daily, result in not washing may lead to loss of friends and social life.

6. suitcase! Perfect for those long commutes home at the weekends no need for hauling huge bags when you have a huge suitcase!

7. Accomodation: finding accomodation should be high on the list to do, the earlier is the cheapest! Be smart and look everywhere for accomadation. Word of mouth, notice boards, college student unions, websites these are all really helpful when finding a house!

8. Respect, treat your housemates as you would want to be treated yourself, parties are great and all but you dont want to keep them up every night every day!

9. Room keys, make sure you lock your room you may trust who you live with but you dont know everyone walking in and out of the house!

10. Money, think wisely! Going drinking every day may be a great idea but it can result in a lack of money!

11. Enjoy, make the most of the year, be open to new friends, dont hold back and live every moment as if its the last!

   Happy College days :)

Diy face mask!

This berry face mask is sure to get your skin nice and bright, sure if ya don't like it its good enough to eat!!

Blueberries are rich in fiber as well as vitamins A

and C, while low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. They

are also a good source of antioxidants. Although acne is typically

attributable more to hormones than to the physical condition of

your skin, certain nutrients can counteract the hormonal

conditions which encourage pimples. Many of the vitamins in

blueberries may neutralize or normalize oil levels in your skin,

making it healthier and less likely to accumulate sebum.

Vitamin A, in particular, is used in a variety of acne-related skin

 treatments.

What you need:
5 blue berries
3 strawberries

Natural yogurt
Honey!

Place the blue berries and strawberries in a bowl and mash with a fork.. Make sure its smooth and crush the skin..

Add 4 tablespoons of yogurt

2 teaspoons honey.

Apply to clean dry skin and leave for 15 mins..
Do not leave on for two hours as colour of berry juice May stain your face like me.. Washes off though :-P
I also made a hair mask while i was at it..

What you need
Honey
Banana
Deep conditioner of any kind
Olive oil

Almond oil (not necessary)
Lemon juice

Purple shampoo (blondes only)

Pop it all in one bowl.. Mash together.. Lather onto hair leave for 30 - 1 hour.. Rinse and shampoo your hair will be left smelling and feeling great!

       Happy good hair day :-)

Summer Lovin'

Hey guys seeming the sun is shining in ireland (thank god), I taught it would be the perfect time to do a summer favorites tag!
These are the items i reach for the most and use nearly everyday :)

First of is my favorite scent of summer and its be delicious green by DKNY. I got this perfume and body lotion set for christmas and i have used the whole lot up since december this summer! the

scent is so fresh and fruity. Yes it does smell like apples but it is not over whelming at all!

My next fav is Benifits "posie tint". This one is great for the beach, it stays on even in warm, watery situations! I often used this with some tinted moisturieser and i was good to go! The colour is a poppy pink and the formula looks just like a nail varnish! It lasts forever as you only need two or three small dots!

2true do a brilliant dupe for this called "blush tint cheeks n lips" and its only one sixth of the price!!!

You can get it in every superdrug and boots!

Midnight blue nail varnish from Julian mc donald is not a usual "summer" colour, but this is lovely on days that are not so bright in ireland! The depth of the blue is stunning and compared to my lovely pale skin it looks great! Dries extremly fast and the colour stays well no need for double coats!

The next one is this little bottle of hand sanitiser from bath and body works! I got some of these from america and they are the best thing ive ever used. They do not smell like that hidious hand sanitiser smell as if u just dipped your hand in nail varnish remover. Instead they smell of vanilla cookies, lavender, apple blossom, cherries all sorts of scents! There very moisturising and do not leave a drying feeling on your hands. I highly recommend these as they're perfect if you cant get to the sink to wash your hands!

Lipstick is a huge must have for summer. I think! I love this pink lipstick from boots natural collection in the shade "pink petal". This colour lasts forever and is extremly moisturising. I often use this as a tint and dab it on my lips, blot an go! Is very buildable and an absolute bargain!

                                ...................................................................................

                            .......................................................................................

I have more summer nail polishs i love! This is oh so gorgeous by essence and is a bright orange colour. It looks alot darker on camera but in person its a more pastel shade of orange. The formula is great quality and again only needs one coat and dries instantly!
This fusia nail varnish is my fav all year around! The colour of it makes me think of flowers and gorgeous petals! This takes seconds to dry, the only bad thing is the brush is very narrow, takes well to the nails and stays for 3-4 days without chipping!

Fake eyelashes!!! Where would i be without my elf fake eye lashes? These are not a must have for summer but they can transform your make up from day to night in a matter of seconds! these come with glue but its not the best! They are not obviously fake and do not over power the eye! I often cut the end piece to make them blend in with my own eye lashes more! One coat of mascara and they blend in perfectly!

Last but not least is this ombre solaire tan! Sublime bronze! It is a gel formula and often this scares me as i have dry skin but i find if i moisturise the day before and exfoliate this tan stays on for days!!
It doesnt smell of curry or buscuits and only takes 8 hours to come up! It can often last a full week from one application and when moisturised turns into a gorgeous gold colour!

Happy Summer Lovin'

Holidays in Ireland?!?

Hey guys.. So here's a blog about holidays in Ireland! Say what?

Yes yes were all used to jetting off to gorgeous paradise locations off the coast of Spain.. France etc etc etc

But really when was the last time you taught of going within your own country? Ireland?

In July i spent one week in a beautiful village called waterville in the depths of Kerry!!

This place is literally like somewhere from the back of a postcard. It was so cheap.. No need to swap money.. No baggage limit.. All we had to pay was travel.. Location and food.

No hefty weight limits.. Rushing to airports.. Sun burn..

The weather can be hit and miss but Ireland is full of glorious sights.. Tourist stops and much more.

Everyday we went to a new tourist place and the sun was shining!!

I would recommend to anyone to stay within your own country.. Explore everything around you and take advantage of the cheap tourists spots..

Whether your in Ireland.. France.. Spain.. America.. There's somewhere undiscovered with family.. Friends.. Partners.. Anyone

Go explore!!

Blog posts about blog posts!

So here's a blog about blog posts?
Lately I've been in a really creative mood and trying new diy crafts.

Suddenly finding blogging is becoming addictive.. Yes a slightly weird addiction but such an easy way to talk about products i love. Its my way of recommending the good the bad and the ugly products out there..

I know there is often long delays but trying to balance time with friends. Work and general life is difficult.. :-D

Summers in full blast and Ireland is so warm! So happy to be able to do summer tutorials..

Stay tuned for plenty of new blogs!

See you soon

HUGE birthday haul :) Im back with a surprise!

Hey guys, so as some of you may have noticed i have been lacking in the "dailie" part of Katie Dailies blog, but with summer here and im off college i have something on nearly everyday! Also im on a clothes ban (Where im saving my money from buying clothes) so theres not too many clothing hauls!
On the 30th of july i turned 19 and it was the best birthday ive ever had! I was spoilt rotten and got so many presents and kind wishes from everyone! :)

I also got to catch up with college friends i hadn't seen in a while!

The day after my birthday a few friends and i headed into town to do some shopping and get some food! Of coarse i was dying to go shopping and headed straight to primark/pennys and bought some stuff there stay posted for a primark haul :)

Then i ended up looking in Claires Assesories somewhere i havent been since i was maybe 12, and ended up getting a ton of items from there! But my opinion of the place has changed completly as their jewlery is no longer all about friendship and glee but statement pieces you could wear everyday!

The total price of the shopping trip into Claires cost €41.54 with sale prices but read the end to find how cheap i got it :)

The first item i bought were these gorgeous gold dolly pumps in a size 5 and they fit like a glove! They were priced at €18.95 and then reduced in the sale!

I am in love with this pair of Metalic geometric style earings i got! These were €5.95 which i taught was a great price for them!!

These again are another pair of feather earings from Claires and they were €4 in the sale originally priced at €7.95, compared to primark thats a rip off but i loved the duo colour finish!
There nice and long and have very slim sliver chains to hang off :)

This next piece is something i saw and instantly had to have! its a gold plated wrap bangle. Which at first was a little tricky to get on but now it fits perfectly thanks to a little bit of streching :) It was originally priced at €10.95 but on sale was only €5 the same price as primark normally :)

These mia feather hair extensions are something ive been looking for for ages, and i finally found a shade of extension that contrasts well with my bright blonde hair! The contrast is lovely! These are amazing and were €8.50 each and i picked up three packets so in total €25.50! For three clips!
They are heat proof and can be curled, straightend, washed plaited anything really once your gentle with them! These are a nice length and have a simple clip in clip out style which connects to the root of your hairs! Simple to use, easy to wash and over all a perfect price!

These shoes were also in the sale and were priced at €18.95 and they also fit like a glove! i am so impressed with these shoes, they have a pointed toe giving a grown up feeling and also have a sligh heel on the back for an extra little lift :) I would recommened these to anyone they are so comfortable and are very true to size!

This bracelet is not something i would always go for but i taught it would look nice stacked with my shambala and skull bracelets! Its a leopard printed sliver plated owl bracelet with elastic and metal closures! Its super strechy and would fit any size wrist orginally priced at €8.95 now only €4!

This necklace was spotted by my twin sister! It was orginally €14.40 but was only €7 in the sale. Its quite long hitting the mid chest area and has 12 delicate sliver plated crosses on it! I love this and think its a great find in claires!

This last item is a rose gold, petal detailed flower with a diamonte styled middle! It was only €3 in the sale and is originally priced at €5.95 whcih is a fair enough price. Its a great fit and adjusts for any size fingers! A brilliant buy!

Theres a twist to this haul! I only paid €11, no i didn't rob the shop, but they have an offer on that if you buy 11 sale items its only €11 including all hats, scarves, bags, shoes and jewelery in the sale! I couldn't resist that offer! They had everything in there and only choosing 11 was very difficult! They weren't too clear in the shop about this offer but i soon asked why the hair feathers were €8.50 in a sale and for €2.50 i basically got ten free items! I would recommend anyone to go in there and have a look! Its an offer not to be missed!

Happy shopping :)
